CHEF BRAD SEMON

Brad’s accomplishments are many, as are his contributions to the community.

Brad was founding Chef and Partner of Southern Lights Bistro and of Prizzi’s Trattoria in Greensboro; and in 1993, Brad started The Painted Plate Catering in The Forum Mall.  In 1996 Painted Plate relocated to a free-standing facility on Church Street, providing a full-service, on-site Banquet Hall in addition to the catering service.  Since its beginning, the Painted Plate has become the Triad’s premiere caterer for events of all sizes from weddings and social gatherings, to Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, corporate, and community events.

In 2003, Brad and a group of partners committed to the revitalization of downtown Greensboro, renovated the former Thalheimer’s Department Store on South Elm Street into The Empire Room -- a luxurious and expansive banquet hall unlike any other in Greensboro.  Because of the overwhelming response, Brad has since opened The Regency Room on the main level of the same building, giving Painted Plate the ability to offer two large and sophisticated event venues in the heart of downtown Greensboro. The culinary excellence of the Painted Plate and sophistication of the Empire Room and Regency Room paint the ideal setting and menu to enhance your next event.
